A big, heavy parcel arrived here in the Very, Very Far North. Duane and his friends are pretty excited and a little bit proud too.
An online interview with me was recently published on Medium.com. Among many things, I had a chance to discuss the ideas behind The Very, Very Far North and the upcoming sequel, Just Beyond the Very, Very Far North. You can click on the link to read it:
Duane the polar bear and his friends were included in the latest Best Books issue that is published bi-annually by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre.
Do check it out. It makes for a fun family read in a time when families are together quite a lot.
The Very, Very Far North has been included in the line-up of books to be read by students all across the state in their 2020-2011 Battle of the Books. I believe I’m the only Canadian author on the list, so go TEAM POLAR BEAR!
The Guilford County School District requested a recorded greeting, allowing me the opportunity to introduce the book to their students.
Just Beyond the Very, Very Far North will come out at the beginning of October of 2020. We are just at the stage of finishing it up and having it ready for the printer.
In the meantime, here is the beautiful cover created by the illustrator, Kelly Poucette:
This is a short heads up that I will be giving daily readings of my middle grade novel, Audrey (cow) on Facebook Live starting Monday, March 30, at 11:00 am PST (2:00 pm EST).
Please let any grade 3-6ers know about it, or if your family’s quarantine daily breaking point is around that time, take a breather with moi. There is a cast of thirty-three narrators telling the story. My acting abilities being what they are, I think that I can guarantee at least fifteen distinct voices among them.

Wishing everyone good health in body and spirit.
A kind review in Quill & Quire this month, written no less by noted author, Charis Cotter (The Swallow: A Ghost Story).
I am very happy to announce that The Very, Very Far North has been included in Indigo’s Best Kids’ Books of 2019 list!
Thank you Alex, of the Randomly Reading blog, for this review of the book.
